Here is a little story that happened in my life this past month, and I hope it is an encouragement to you and your journey.
All of us are on a journey, whether we know it or not. Some are moving away from home, others are eating healthier, or maybe they are working hard to get the next promotion. We wake up with goals in mind and when we go to bed at night we have one of two things that would come to mind. The first is "YES I did everything I was suppose to and the dishes are done!" or the second, "Oh Man! I didn't get anything done today, maybe I should change what I am doing?". Lately I have been stuck in the "Better Luck Next Time" thinking. I wake up, play with my dog, watch full house and go to work then straight to bed and repeat. But God is Good, and he has a better plan for my everyday life.
It all started a few Sundays ago...
God changed my life, my thinking and my actions. The band was playing Break Every Chain, not only is it a powerful song but once you actually declare this over your life, the weight is lifted off your shoulders.
I couldn't control myself, as I "let Go and Let God" I felt free. This cycle that I was stuck in was lifted in that moment. I started to weep as I reached for God as a little child wanted to be held by their daddy. One action made me free and supported. I cried as I was excited, joyful, and empowered to make a difference. One action brought me closer to God. One action was a testimony. Jesus can break every Chain but we have to be willing to be free. The shackles will fall and the walls will crumble but we have to allow God to do so.
Not only was this a life changing moment in my life, through my actions somebody was asking questions. This somebody was a child sitting next to me, asking their mother if I was okay and what was going on, from what I heard and remember- the mother replied she is worshipping. The image of me will be in that little child's memory as they go on their life journey.
As of Sunday, I am a new person who wakes up with goals and motivation and I will go to bed knowing I did what I had to do.
My encouragement is:
Take a second and look around your life. God has given you love, freedom, joy and fearlessness and ,such more. Remember God has placed you in a spot only you can be in. You are strong enough to finish what you started. Actions speak louder, do what you need to do.
with love,
Shelre.
