Getting Lost in the Busyness

To Gulu,

Autumn has come and gone and the Christmas season is approaching. A lot has happened, and yet there is still so much that has to get done.

The last two months have been packed with fundraisers, events, and work.
In September I held an "Art in the Garden Sale" at my grandparents' cottage. The turnout was terrific, and I would like to thank everyone who came by! That sale was a success as I was able to raise 1/4 of the amount I need for my internship!
A friend of mine did a ThirtyOne online fundraiser for me, some ladies helped out by buying Christmas Gifts and personalized totes.
Then my mom and I attended Strong Conference at Lakemount Worship Centre. There, more than anything we made connections which I am grateful for. New friendships were formed, and lots of stories were shared by ladies who have gone to Uganda.
In this coming month, I have three events! The first one I will be apart of Lakemont's Mission Sunday and the second one I will be holding an information night. As well I will be a vender at The Christmas Market @ Mountain Park Church
Plus! This weekend I am doing the draw for a brand new iPhoneX!
With all of that, I have raised just over half of my support! I am so glad that God has provided for my financial needs so far!

On top of those amazing events, I have been working on my lessons that I will be sharing with the children's pastors and leaders, and packing for my year-long adventure! I also have a job and I have been saving my pay checks.

The stressed asset in as January is fast approaching. My fears are starting to arise, and goodbyes will soon be said.  Paperwork is seating to pile up, nerves are setting in, and lots of tears have shed.

As worldly thoughts fill my head, I have Holy Spirit whispering "I gave you this journey, you are strong enough to walk it. You are called. You are not alone."

Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

As the holiday season, we all become busy. We work longer so we can have a bigger paycheck to pay for the bills and the extra gifts and meals for Christmas. But we also want to spend as much time with friends and family. This can become stressful as we try to give more of our time rather than paying attention to what God has called us to do I am personally reminded during this time to balance more equality than I have been. God is Good, and He is in control.
Sometimes we need to step back for a few hours and just relax. Have the personal time with God and refresh our mindset. This is something that I am learning as I either "go hard" for a few days with a non-stop mind self to hardly doing anything at all. By the end of a work day, I just wanted to watch tv and relax, however, I have so much more preparation to do. Some might say, I have been lost in the busyness.Moving to the other side of the world is overwhelming and scary. However,

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:1

In this busy season, I pray for rest and yet productive season.

With Love,
Shelre
